Sleeve Props - The Royal Academy of Arts x Look Ahead
Working with 15 Look Ahead residents on a series of creative exchanges.
Exploring fabric and paper cutouts, we began returning images of gestures and hands to the groups to use at various scales for collage and reflection. This was initiated as a way to share and discuss workshop imagery with our groups - the images often gestural and cropped act, have a short lifespan acting as ‘research and recording’ rather than something to use, discuss, or cut out and around. Other moments of exchange were recorded through expired darkroom paper, gathered and wrapped around hands, capturing the fingers pressing and moulding.
The frames were positioned as a zig zag in the room to hold a series of responses and act as a point to interact with ~ to hold and bend at intervals ~ hand through and look through.
